A meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council (EIC) will be held on February 2 in Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan) in a face-to-face format.
The meeting will be attended by the Heads of Government of the Eurasian Economic Union countries – Members of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council: Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Alikhan Smailov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, and Bakytzhan Sagintaev, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The meeting agenda plans to discuss the current state and prospects for developing the EAEU integrated information system, the action plan to create favorable conditions for developing electronic commerce in the EAEU, and the integration interaction between the EAEU countries' railways.
Besides, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will consider the macroeconomic situation in the EAEU countries and proposals to ensure sustainable economic development.
It is planned to discuss implementing the EAEU Member States' joint project on accelerated rail and multimodal transportation of agricultural products and food "Eurasian Agroexpress", as well as amending the list of priority integration infrastructure projects in the field of transport of the Eurasian Economic Union States.
It bears reminding that since January 1, 2024 Armenia has assumed the chairmanship in the governing bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union and will chair the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the Eurasian Economic Commission's Council during the year.
