22 Jan 2025 Outcomes of EEC Council on January 22, 2025 On January 22, the Eurasian Economic Commission's Council held a meeting at the level of Deputy Prime Ministers of the Eurasian Economic Union countries. EEC Council approved first two applications for subsidies under industrial cooperation financing mechanism The EAEU approved common approaches to interoperability of intelligent transport systems.  Amendments were made to the Rules for Registration and Examination of Medicines.  The EEC Council approved the establishment of a joint study group to examine the feasibility of a free trade agreement with Tunisia.  The EEC Council approved procedure for collecting, summarizing and providing information on dangerous products and its placement into the Union's information system.  Rules for conducting studies of biological medicinal products were supplemented.  EEC Council approved 2025 indicative balances for certain agricultural goods  The Action Plan for assessing the scientific and technical level of the EAEU technical regulations and lists of standards thereto that came into effect was approved.  The EEC Council approved a new version of the Procedure for developing and amending the Union's technical regulations.

01 Jan 2025 Bakytzhan Sagintaev congratulated Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez on Cuba's Liberation Day Bakytzhan Sagintaev, Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Board, congratulated Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, President of the Republic of Cuba and Head of the Observer State at the Eurasian Economic Union, on Liberation Day. “I am confident that successful interaction between the EAEU States and Cuba will continue to deepen for the benefit of our countries' peoples,” the Head of the EEC Board noted in his congratulatory letter. On behalf of the EEC and in his personal capacity Bakytzhan Sagintaev wished Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez further success in his important activities, as well as prosperity and well-being to the people of Cuba.
26 Dec 2024 Bakytzhan Sagintaev: "Dialogue with Iran has the potential for development in a number of areas" On December 26 in St. Petersburg, Bakytzhan Sagintaev, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a working meeting with Seyed Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The parties exchanged views on relevant matters of Eurasian integration and discussed promising areas of cooperation. Bakytzhan Sagintaev emphasized that Iran is one of the important partners of the Eurasian Economic Union. While the Interim Trade Agreement between the EAEU states and Iran was in force from 2018 to 2023, the trade turnover almost doubled. In the first 10 months of 2024, this indicator rose by 12.8%, with exports of goods to Iran increasing by 16% and imports by 8%. To expand the mutually beneficial partnership, the two parties signed a full-fledged Free Trade Agreement in December 2023 to establish duty-free treatment for 90% of goods. "We expect that in the near future the Agreement with Iran will enter into force, which will allow our countries to increase trade turnover and overall economic cooperation with greater efficiency," noted the Head of the EEC Board. "Dialogue with Iran has the potential for development in a number of areas." The parties agreed that the most promising areas of interaction are the development of transport and logistics infrastructure, expansion of cooperation ties between enterprises, cooperation in the agricultural sector, oil refining and petrochemical industries, scientific research and development. As a result of the negotiations, the parties expressed confidence in the successful practical realization of the plans.
