One of the priorities of the Transport and
Infrastructure Department in accordance with Paragraph 3 of Section XXI. Transport of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union is generation of proposals on coordination and interaction of the Eurasian Economic
Union Member States (Parties) on the issues of creation and development of
transport infrastructure, multimodal logistics centers and Eurasian transport
corridors on the basis of analysis and monitoring of implementation of the
program- strategic documents on development of transport infrastructure by the
Parties, as well as study of international best practices in the sphere of
formation of transport corridors and logistics centers system (reconstruction
and joint construction of transport and logistics infrastructure).
At the same time, the
following significant activities from infrastructural point of view fall within
the competence of the Infrastructure Section:
- monitoring of implementation of the "Nurly zhol", "Silk Road Economic Belt" projects with regard to development of transport infrastructure and its conjunction with the Eurasian Economic Union;
- performance of work on preparation, harmonization and
adoption of documents forming the regulatory framework of the Union with regard
to transport infrastructure, as well as monitoring of subsequent implementation
of the mentioned documents by the Parties;
- consideration of issues related to development of
international transport corridors, transit potential and transport and
logistics systems of various modes of transport;
- consideration of issues related to transport safety and
operation safety of transport infrastructure facilities;
- maintenance of activity of the Subcommittee for infrastructure and logistics of the Advisory Committee for transport and infrastructure.
