Varos Simonyan

Born on March 5, 1981 in Yerevan, Republic of Armenia.

Varos Simonyan graduated from the State Engineering University of Armenia, specializing in Economics and Management, and from the University of Bradford, Great Britain.

He started his career in 1998 in the commercial sector, where he held various positions.

2002–2008: a lecturer at the State Engineering University of Armenia.

2002–2005: Chief Specialist at the Section of Natural Resource Use Economy, Mining Industry Directorate of the Ministry of Trade and Economic Development of the Republic of Armenia.

2005–2007: Head of the EU Cooperation Section, EU and WTO Cooperation Directorate of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.

2007–2008: Head of the EU and WCO Cooperation Directorate of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.

2008–2011: Head of the EU Cooperation and International Economic Cooperation Directorate of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.

2011–2015: Trade Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union.

2015–2019: Commercial Attaché of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union.

From August 2019 to November 2021, he served as Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia; also co-chaired a number of intergovernmental commissions.

On November 23, 2021, by decision of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, he was appointed Minister in charge of Internal Markets, Informatization, Information and Communication Technologies of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

On February 1, 2024, by decision of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, he was again appointed Minister in charge of Internal Markets, Informatization, Information and Communication Technologies of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
