Bakhyt Sultanov appointed Member of EEC Board in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation

By the Decision of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council dated October 6 this year, Bakhyt Sultanov was appointed new Member of the Board - Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission on behalf of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He will be in charge of antitrust regulation and competition in transboundary markets of the Eurasian Economic Union.

From 2003 through 2006, Bakhyt Sultanov served as Vice Minister of Economy and Budget Planning of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 2006 through 2007, he was Chairman of the Statistics Agency, Vice-Minister of Finance, and Minister of Economy and Budget Planning of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the period from 2010 to 2013, he held the positions of Assistant to the President, and Deputy Head of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From 2013 through 2018, Bakhyt Sultanov was Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the period from 2018 to 2022, he held the positions of Akim of Astana, Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Minister of Trade and Integration.

He was awarded letters of appreciation, he is a recipient of the Order of Kurmet (2006), the Order of Parasat (2012), and the Order of Barys, 3rd class (2021).
