Bakytzhan Sagintaev held negotiations with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko

Bakytzhan Sagintaev, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, held negotiations on February 26 in Minsk.

During the meeting, relevant topics of the Eurasian economic integration were discussed, including development of industrial cooperation and the agricultural sector, establishment of common energy markets, removal of obstacles in mutual trade, etc.

In particular, Bakytzhan Sagintaev noted that the Commission, together with the authorized authorities of the Member States, was working on draft agreements on establishing a common EAEU gas market and a common EAEU market for oil and petroleum products.

Regarding transport issues, the Head of the EEC Board shared that taking into account the redirection of transport flows in view of new geo-economic realities, the Commission was preparing a road map for implementing the Main Directions for the Coordinated (Agreed) Transport Policy for 2024-2026.

The sides paid special attention to digitalizing transport and logistics processes, which is necessary for liberalizing international road freight transportation. Bakytzhan Sagintaev said that within the framework of the digital transport corridor ecosystem project, services would be developed to speed up passage through checkpoints, optimize the logistics process of freight transportation and use electronic international waybills.

During the conversation, a detailed exchange of views took place on a number of issues of mutual interest, including interaction with the world's leading integration associations, prospects for completely eliminating obstacles in mutual trade and the launch of freight transportation using navigation seals in the EAEU.

 While in Minsk, Bakytzhan Sagintaev also held talks with Igor Petrishenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.
