EAEU and China develop strategic partnership

The issues of deepening the dialogue between the Eurasian Economic Union countries and the People's Republic of China were under a magnifying glass at the 5th conference "Eurasian Studies on Contemporary China and Eurasia". The event was held on December 8 in Yerevan on the initiative of the China-Eurasia Council for Political and Strategic Studies.

Goar Barseghyan, Director of the Integration Development Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission, made a report on the EAEU strategic development and international activities.

"The EAEU actively interacts with China, including within the BRICS, SCO and other formats, including coupling with the Chinese Belt and Road initiative. Such dialogue ensures the synergy of regional economic development strategies and is a driver for forming a multipolar world order," Goar Barseghyan emphasized.

The Commission's representative has noted that China is not only a leading trade and economic partner of the Union, but also a key transportation and logistics center in the Eurasian space. All this gives the development of cooperation with the PRC a strategic character.
