The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission adopted a recommendation to conduct sociological research on consumer protection in the Eurasian Economic Union countries.
The Union States are recommended to take in account the Approaches to such researches to assess the level of consumer protection. The Approaches, in particular, define the goals and objectives of research carried out as part of opinion surveys. The objectives include collecting statistical data on the level of consumer protection; analyzing the dynamics of indicators of population satisfaction with the level of such protection; studying the people's awareness of the rights and possibilities of protection; preparing proposals for improving information and educational work among the population on the consumer protection based on the use of the most efficient information channels, etc.
The document has been developed under the Program of Joint Actions of the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union in the Field of Consumer Protection, becoming the first stage of joint sociological research intended to study public opinion on the legal protection of citizens of the Union countries in this field.
The research results will be used to develop solutions aimed at strengthening guarantees for the protection of consumer rights and interests within the EAEU.
