EEC and Kazakhstan Stock Exchange discuss shaping a common exchange space

Bakytzhan Sagintaev, Minister in charge of Economy and Financial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission held a meeting with Alina Aldambergen, Chairman of the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange on November 14 in Almaty.

Bakytzhan Sagintaev informed about the work performed by the Commission jointly with the financial regulators of the EAEU countries on two fundamental agreements in the field of forming a common financial market: on the mutual admission of brokers and dealers of the Union countries to participate in organized stock trading and on cross-border admission to the placement and circulation of securities on organized auctions in the Union countries.

 In addition, the parties discussed the role and opportunities of the exchange currency market to increase payments in the national currencies of the EAEU countries.

In August this year, the heads of governments of the EAEU countries approved the Recommendations on the Development of the Use of National Currencies in Mutual Trade between the EAEU States. This document defines the task of accelerated development of stock trading in currency pairs of the national currencies of the Union states.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation with the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange.
