Mikhail Myasnikovich: “An open dialogue with entrepreneurs and creation of comfortable business environment in the EAEU is our priority”

Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, told about the mechanisms to ensure the interests of the Eurasian businesses and attract entrepreneurs to developing the regulatory framework of the Eurasian Economic Union at the forum “Expanding the Horizon: the Strategy of Eurasian Economic Integration under New Conditions and the Role of Business” held on March 6 on the basis of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE).

The Head of the EEC Board called the development of an open dialogue with the business community and the creation of comfortable business environment in the EAEU one of the priorities of the Eurasian Economic Commission. He recalled that in 2022, the Commission held more than 70 events aimed at strengthening interaction with the business community, including 19 visiting meetings. Unions of employers that represent the interests of national business communities, such as the RUIE, the Confederation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Belarus, Atameken NCE RK, the Kyrgyz Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Armenia, were directly involved in their organization.

According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the practice of evaluating the integration regulatory impact of draft decisions adopted by the EEC has become a successful form of involving the entrepreneurs in the development of these documents. “In 2022, about half of the 861 business proposals were directly implemented in the documents of the EEC Board, and the Commission intends to expand these activities,” he said.

According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the well-coordinated work of the governments of the EAEU countries, businesses and the Commission gives good results. “Following the results of 2022, which was difficult in all respects, agricultural production in the EAEU increased by more than 9%, industrial production remained at the level of 2021, investment in fixed assets increased by 5.3%, and construction volumes increased by 5%,” the head of the EEC Board noted.

Chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin set new ambitious tasks to deepen integration in his address on the occasion of Russia's chairmanship in the Union’s governing bodies. In this regard, the Chairman of the EEC Board invited the business community to join the activities initiated by the Commission to develop proposals for deepening Eurasian integration in the medium and long term.

Mikhail Myasnikovich paid special attention to intensifying joint investment activities and forming sustainable technological independence in the EAEU. “For the purposes of the comprehensive self-sustaining development of our Union, we consider it especially important to ensure further synergy between the Commission, national authorities and businesses on key issues of the Eurasian agenda,” the Head of the EEC Board summed up.

As part of the event, Alexander Shokhin, President of the RUIE, awarded Mikhail Myasnikovich with an honorary badge of the RUIE.
