The meeting agenda included the main directions of industrial cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union until 2030; the initiative of the Russian Federation to come up with an interstate program for the development of robotics, production and implementation of industrial robots in the EAEU; the Eurasian network of industrial cooperation, subcontracting and technology transfer; as well as the progress of the mechanism of financial support to joint cooperation projects in industry.
The meeting endorsed the ongoing work and the draft 2030 Main Directions of Industrial Cooperation (MDIC) with the package of documents required for their approval. According to the draft, the EAEU countries will focus on addressing issues in three areas: leveraging the Union's market potential, engagement on industry and technology and cooperation in export markets.
"What is fundamentally new is that for the first time specific measures for the implementation of the MDIC are formalized as an annex to the document specifying relevant instruments with the indication of forms of implementation, deadlines, as well as responsible persons. They will be approved simultaneously with the MDIC," mentioned Goar Barseghyan, Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Commission. "After consideration in due course, the document is planned to be submitted to the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in October this year".
Line Ministers of the Union's countries agreed on approaches and launched an emerging Eurasian technological platform for the development of production and introduction of industrial robots.
The meeting also discussed the stages of restarting the project Eurasian Network of Industrial Cooperation, Subcontracting and Technology Transfer and decided to continue further elaboration of approaches to its reformatting.
As for the implementation of the mechanism of financial support to joint cooperation projects in the industries, Goar Barseghyan noted that the Commission carries out active work to inform the business and financial organizations about the conditions of participation in the new mechanism. In particular, the Member States are systematically provided with advisory support in their development of cooperation projects.
The Commission has received the first project proposal, which is under consideration," Goar Barseghyan informed. "It is important to promote the project activity of businesses, and here we see a serious potential in expanding interregional ties of the Five countries. In this matter, the Commission counts on the assistance of the concerned authorities of the Member States."
The parties decided to intensify the work on identifying and preparing joint cooperation projects in the industries.
