The Eurasian Economic Commission has no illusions regarding the improvement of economic performance of the EAEU Member States in 2016. However, this would not influence the integration processes within the Union, suggests the Minister in charge of Economy and Financial Policy Timur Suleimenov. The appropriateness of introducing a single currency within the EAEU, prospects of its development, and relevant measures that would take into account the economic interests of the Union members in political decision-making in the face of sanctions - Mr. Suleimenov told about it in an interview with RIA News reporter Yulia Kislitsyna.

The project to equalise rates in excise duties in the EAEC countries has been considered since 2013, but due to a number of technical and legal difficulties still has not been approved. Without the alignment of excise duties, it will not be possible to keep the progressive trend in integration processes and complete the formation of a single market of alcohol and tobacco products. As for when the Parties will come to a mutual agreement, we asked Timur Suleimenov, Minister in charge of Economics and Financial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission at a meeting, which was organised as part of the XIII Eurasian Media Forum.
