Representatives of the Industrial Unit of the Eurasian Economic Commission took part in the 3rd Rare and Rare Earth Metals 2024 (RM and REM) sectoral conference and the Copper 2024 sectoral conference in Moscow.
On the margins of the conference, the issues of deepening cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union and third countries, including countries of the African and Asian regions, were discussed.
The conference attendees were particularly interested in the report on the development potential of deposits of these metals in Kazakhstan (the speaker was KAZAKH INVEST, Kazakhstan's national company for attracting foreign investment), including the specifics of investing in sectoral projects in the country.
To expand inter-country cooperation, it was proposed to create a sectoral RM and REM association in Kazakhstan.
In addition, a unique, one-of-a-kind Russian technology for the extraction of RM and REM was presented, which is aligned with the environmental agenda and has already been successfully tested in South Africa.
The key materials of the Copper 2024 sectoral conference were the reports on the specifics of copper industry development in Armenia, Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan, as well as on the use of copper in green technologies.
Following the events, the participants agreed to intensify work on deepening research and technology cooperation in the industry, taking into account the EAEU cooperation potential.
