EAEU to test approaches to ensuring security of e-commerce goods

On July 15, the Eurasian Economic Commission's Council approved a temporary procedure for confirming compliance with the requirements of the EAEU technical regulations for e-commerce goods. The procedure will be applied during pilot projects in the field of foreign e-commerce.

The temporary procedure provides for general approaches to ensuring the security of e-commerce goods, which can later be detailed within the national legislation.

In particular, during the experiments, the notification procedure will be applied to certain goods, and in relation to products placed under the customs warehouse procedure, the notification procedure will not be applied.

It is assumed that a foreign e-commerce participant will complete a security application for e-commerce goods within the lists for the notification procedure in the section with information on the specification of the goods.

"Implementation on the experiment based on unified mechanisms will allow us to develop the most effective concept for protecting the market from unsafe products sold on third-country marketplaces," pointed out Viktor Nazarenko, the EEC Minister in charge of Technical Regulation.
