EAEU created conditions for equal consumer protection

The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council adopted a program of the Eurasian Economic Union States’ joint actions in the field of consumer rights protection. This is the EAEU first program document aimed at creating a practical mechanism for implementing a coordinated policy in this field.
The program is founded on the idea of economic development based on the maintenance of well-being, purchasing power and consumer proficiency.

The document is provided for by the Strategy for Developing the Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025. The program's activities include creating a mechanism to respect the consumers’ interests in national and international legislation, forming a system to settle transboundary consumer disputes, as well as maintaining rational and sustainable consumption in the Union.

The program is focused on involving governing bodies, public organizations and the business community in its implementation, which will contribute to preserving the internal market based on a responsible attitude to consumers.

Besides, in accordance with the adopted program, it is planned to annually designate the subject whereby the Union will hold events aimed at increasing the interest of society and the business community in consumer right protection.
