27 May 2025 EEC and Thailand intensify interaction Mikael Belluyan, Director of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Integration Development Department, and Somrudee Poopornanake, Deputy Director-General of European Affairs Department of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussed promising areas of cooperation between the EEC and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand. Mikael Belluyan noted that the Commission proposes to intensify joint work to expand trade between the Eurasian Economic Union states and the Kingdom of Thailand, including within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation. He also said that an industry seminar on the Eurasian economic agenda is planned to be held in June 2025 for representatives of the official circles and business community of Thailand. The parties discussed the possibility of holding the 3rd meeting of the joint working group on interaction between the EEC and the Government of Thailand, during which practical issues of cooperation, as well as a joint action plan will be considered. Somrudee Poopornanake supported the proposals and noted Thailand's willingness to enhance a dialogue with the EEC within the framework of the Memorandum and interest in the development of trade and economic cooperation with the EAEU countries, including in the context of exploring the possibility of creating an FTA between the EAEU, its Member States, and the Kingdom of Thailand. The Memorandum of Cooperation between the EEC and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand was signed on November 19, 2018. According to the document, the parties intend to cooperate in such areas as regional economic integration; trade policy; analysis of economic development and macroeconomic situation in the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Kingdom of Thailand; customs regulation; technical regulation; sanitary, veterinary-sanitary and phytosanitary quarantine measures; finance; transport; energy policy; the agricultural sector; competition policy and antitrust regulation; industry; intellectual property; consumer rights protection; information and communication technologies and digital economy; trade in services and investments; entrepreneurship development; public procurement; other areas of mutual economic interest.
26 May 2025 4th Eurasian Economic Forum announces registration for EEF 2025 in Minsk The registration is open for participants of the 4th Eurasian Economic Forum (EEF 2025), which will take place on June 26-27, 2025 in Minsk at the Minsk International Exhibition Center. The main theme of the Forum is "Strategy of Eurasian Economic Integration: Results and Prospects". The Forum architecture includes six major thematic sections. All areas of interaction within the EAEU are covered to the maximum extent possible: finance, industry and agriculture, energy, technical regulation and veterinary medicine, development of the EAEU internal market, trade, transport, customs regulation, public procurement, statistics, etc. The business program of the Forum includes a plenary session with the participation of the Heads of the EAEU states, as well as more than 30 thematic events: plenary sessions, round tables, business dialogues. The EEF 2025 Forum promises to become a landmark event for international cooperation in the Eurasian space. Its rich business program will feature not only delegates from the EAEU countries, but also from Observer States: Iran, Cuba, Uzbekistan. 26 May 2025 Georgy Arzumanyan: "Mutually beneficial cooperation using EEC support instruments will help strengthen the sustainability of industrial complexes in the EAEU" Representatives of the manufacturing industry unit of the Eurasian Economic Commission, headed by Georgy Arzumanyan, Deputy Director of the Industrial Policy Department, took part in the Syngas Nitrogen Russia and CIS annual international congress. Georgy Arzumanyan told the participants about the goals and possibilities of using financial and non-financial instruments to support industrial cooperation as one of the drivers of development for the Eurasian Economic Union economies. He noted the importance of active participation of chemical industrial enterprises in the creation of value chains utilizing the potential of all Member States, calling on businesses to be more actively involved in the work on creating and developing project initiatives within the framework of the supranational mechanism of financial support to joint cooperation projects. "The introduction of a new support instrument in the real sector will contribute not only to the financial sustainability of individual industrial enterprises, but also to the promotion of business processes on the path of technological development in the Eurasian space as a whole," emphasized Georgy Arzumanyan. Participation in the Congress helped inform the business community about the powers and instruments available to the Commission, which facilitate the development of industrial cooperation on priority economic activities within the EAEU. "I am confident that the positive implementation of the first projects within the framework of the supranational mechanism for supporting industrial cooperation projects will serve as an impetus for other interested enterprises of the Union States. I would like to believe that the new measure of cooperation support will enable joint promotion of the interests of entrepreneurs, increase the investment attractiveness of our countries and help reach a qualitatively new level of technological development," noted Georgy Arzumanyan. The Syngas Nitrogen Russia and CIS congress is dedicated to sharing practical experience in the construction and modernization of the largest enterprises in the synthesis gas processing industry, implementation of investment projects and attraction of investments to them, technical and technological improvement of enterprises producing nitrogen, methanol, ammonia and mineral fertilizers in Russia and CIS countries.
