Competition advocacy


Competition advocacy means measures aimed at raising public awareness of competition advantages, without using coercive mechanisms.

The Competition and Antitrust Regulation Unit raises awareness of the business community of competition advantages, rights and ways to protect its interests, establishing dialogue with/receiving feedback from it as well as the academic and legal community via the competition advocacy concept.

The key competition advocacy instruments are:

-    Dialogue with business representatives of the EAEU countries including through holding Public Reception Office meetings of the Competition Unit

-    5+1 meetings of competition authorities of the EAEU countries and the Member of the EEC Board in charge of competition

-    Dialogue with the academic, expert and judicial community

-    Advisory Committee on Competition Policy, Antitrust Regulation and State Price Regulation

-    Regulatory impact assessment (RIA)

-    Identification and elimination of obstacles and barriers to functioning of the EAEU internal market

-    Eurasian Economic Forum

-    Holding and taking part in forums, conferences, seminars, round tables and other events

-    Educational programs

-    Preparing information and analytical materials and their posting on the EEC website

-    Awareness raising

-    International cooperation.
