Ruslan Davydov: "Digitalization of customs regulation is the key to deepening the Eurasian economic integration"
Ruslan Davydov, the EEC Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation, spoke at the plenary session of the 7th Integration Eurasian business forum, delivering a report on the impact of digitalizing customs regulation on the Eurasian economic integration development. The EEC Minister has emphasized that introducing digital customs technologies helps simplify foreign trade activities, improve transparency and accelerate the EAEU countries' trade turnover. "The foreign trade of the EAEU countries in 2024 grew by 22% compared to 2020," Ruslan Davydov noted. According to the EEC Minister, uninterrupted operations of digital customs systems regardless of external factors are of great importance as this is a key element in the technology independence of the EAEU States. Ruslan Davydov also told about best global practices in using digital customs technologies, including with reference to the CIS and EAEU countries. "Systems for cargo vehicle batch scanning used more and more extensively at checkpoints on the outer contour of the EAEU customs territory enable significantly accelerated customs operations. Their introduction will create conditions for conducting comprehensive analysis of big data collected at checkpoints for the purposes of developing logistics and improving the performance of controlling authorities," the EEC Minister reported. Summing up his speech, Ruslan Davydov invited the forum participants to join the EEC conference on using electronic navigation seals in the EAEU to be held in Moscow on November 26, 2025. This conference will become another opportunity to exchange experience and discuss relevant matters before launching the use of seals to track shipments around the EAEU territory on February 11, 2026.
