In accordance with the Action Plan for Implementing the Strategic Directions for Developing the Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025, the Eurasian Economic Commission set about developing a draft Concept for creating a Eurasian system for ensuring product quality.
For that purpose the Commission analyzed such systems functioning in the Eurasian Economic Union Member States and third countries. Based on the analytical data, recommendations were made that will underpin elaboration of a draft Eurasian concept. The analysis results were presented at the EEC Board's meeting.
Quality assurance of products released into circulation in the Union's territory is an important condition for developing Eurasian economic integration and creating the setting for fair competition in the Union's common market, a guarantee for consumer rights protection and enforcement and for increasing competitiveness of EAEU products in foreign markets.
This work is focused on creating a Union system establishing favorable conditions for business to produce competitive products and necessary conditions for circulation of quality products in the market, which is beneficial to consumers. The Commission will continue its work on finalizing the draft Concept for signing it before the end of 2023 at the level of heads of Union States.
