Outcomes of EEC Council held on September 14

At its meeting held on September 14, the EEC Council adopted an updated version of three technical regulations of the Customs Union "On safety of railway rolling stock", "On safety of high-speed rail transport" and "On safety of rail transport infrastructure".

Members of the EEC Council agreed to sign an Agreement on the procedure and conditions for eliminating technical barriers in mutual trade with third countries.

The EEC Council approved common principles and approaches to ensuring food security in the Eurasian Economic Union as well as the Eurasian technological platform in the field of production, processing and use of essential oil and medicinal plants.

The EEC Council approved a list of measures to implement the main guidelines of the EAEU States’ macroeconomic policy for 2021-2022 to achieve economic growth in the EAEU of 4.5-5.5% per year.

The EEC Council decided to include fungal mycelium in the EAEU list of quarantineable products.

The EEC Council approved an updated version of EAEU CN of FEA and EAEU CCT which will come into effect on January 1, 2022.

The EEC Council considered a report on implementing the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Vietnam. It was stated that from 2016 to 2020 exports from the EAEU to this country increased by 9.9% and imports increased by 64.1%.

The EEC Council amended the Procedure for considering cases of violation of the general rules of competition in the EAEU transboundary markets as well as changed the Methodology for assessing the state of competition in the EAEU transboundary markets.

The EEC Council approved implementing the project "Creating information and communication "showcase" of national services of the digital transport corridor ecosystem" 

It bears reminding that the ecosystem of digital transport corridors is an open digital environment whose objective is to help business partners to exchange logistics information throughout the supply chain as well as to ensure legally significant electronic interaction with authorized authorities within countries and at international level.

The EEC Council adopted an instruction to develop new mechanisms for financing industrial cooperation in the EAEU. Creating a showcase of national services will enable forming a digital infrastructure for implementing the Union’s ecosystem of digital transport corridors and to organize interaction between national elements of digital services and users.

The EEC Council approved draft agenda of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council’s meeting to be held on October 14 in Minsk.

The next meeting of the EEC Council will take place on October 5.
