Georgy Arzumanyan appointed Deputy Director of the EEC Industrial Policy Department

Georgy Vigenovich Arzumanyan was born in 1973 in Yerevan (Republic of Armenia). In 1995, he graduated with honors from Yerevan State University with a degree in biology, lecturer in biology and chemistry.

In 2004, he completed a Master's degree in Environmental Management and Policy at the International Institute of Industrial Environmental Economics at Lund University (Sweden) with a Master of Science degree.

He started his career in 1997 as the Head of the Office of the Minister of Nature Protection of the Republic of Armenia.

From 2000 to 2001– he was a specialist at the World Bank office in Armenia.

From 2001 to 2005 – Senior Specialist of the Office for the Implementation of the project "Natural Resource Management and Poverty Reduction", Head of the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Nature Protection of the Republic of Armenia.

From 2005 to 2008, he was the Program Manager for the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources at the Yerevan Office of the United Nations Development Program.

From 2009 to 2011, he was the Director of the Caucasus Regional Environmental Center in Tbilisi (Georgia).

In 2011-2021, he worked at the offices of the United Nations Development Program in Yerevan and Chisinau (Moldova) as a program policy adviser, program specialist-Head of the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Change, Specialist adviser on Environment and Green Economy for Europe and the CIS.

He holds the status of adviser of the 1st category of the Armenian civil service and a manager above the second level in the United Nations system. He was awarded the St. George Medal "Honor. Glory. Labor" of the III degree and the gratitude of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.

Since July 9, 2021 – Deputy Director of the Industrial Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
