Outcomes of Eurasian Intergovernmental Council’s meeting on June 20-21

The Heads of Government of the Eurasian Economic Union countries considered 16 issues at the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council’s meeting held on June 20-21 in Minsk (the Republic of Belarus) in a face-to-face format.

The Heads of Government of the EAEU countries laid down some rules required for functioning of the single market for sensitive products. The EIC disposition establishes free circulation of such goods in mutual trade within the approved indicative balances.

The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council’s members received a report on creating and developing the EAEU countries’ transport infrastructure and instructed the Governments of the Union States, jointly with the EEC, to intensify efforts on developing transport infrastructure of the Eurasian transport corridors and routes, including international transport corridors in the East-West and North-South directions.

The Heads of Government of the EAEU countries were presented with monitoring of the regulatory impact assessment of the EEC’s draft decisions in 2021.

The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council adopted a Program of the EAEU States’ joint actions in the field of consumer rights protection.

The annual report of the Eurasian Economic Commission on the state of competition in transboundary markets for 2021 was approved by Disposition of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council on June 21.

The Intergovernmental Council’s Members were presented with a report by Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the EEC Board, on implementing projects within the EAEU digital agenda.

The EAEU States will start applying the goods accounting system. Relevant disposition was adopted by the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

The next meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will be held on August 25-26 in Cholpon-Ata (the Kyrgyz Republic).

The meeting was attended by Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the EIC, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Executive Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Alikhan Smailov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, as well as Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, Perez Benitez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Belarus, and Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister for Financial and Economic Affairs and Poverty Reduction - Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Besides, Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the EEC Board, jointly with the Heads of delegations, took part in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Victory Monument in Minsk.
