10 Oct 2025 Bakytzhan Sagintayev conveyed greetings to Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez on Republic of Cuba's Independence Day Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Board, extended his greetings to Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, President of the Republic of Cuba and Head of the Observer State at the Eurasian Economic Union, and all the Cuban people on Independence Day. "Cooperation between the EAEU countries and the Republic of Cuba has a solid foundation and high potential as it steadily strengthens in the interests of our peoples," the letter of greetings reads. On behalf of the EEC and in his personal capacity, Bakytzhan Sagintayev wished Cuba well-being and prosperity.

10 Oct 2025 Maksim Yermalovich held negotiations with Khalilillo Turakhujaev, Chairman of Republic of Uzbekistan's Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee On October 9 in Tashkent, Maksim Yermalovich, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a working meeting with Khalilillo Turakhujaev, Chairman of the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The two sides discussed key matters of interaction in the field of competition. In particular, they considered the prospects for holding joint consultations, forums and seminars, exchanging experience, analytical materials and best practices in regulating digital platforms. The meeting resulted in reaching an agreement to intensify expert interaction. In December 2020, the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council granted the Republic of Uzbekistan the status of an Observer State at the Eurasian Economic Union.

10 Oct 2025 Daniiar Imanaliev: "Modern technologies will improve the quality and availability of statistics in the EAEU" Key documents on statistics within the Eurasian Economic Union were considered at the EEC headquarters during a meeting of the relevant Advisory Committee chaired by Daniiar Imanaliev, Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission. Among them were the 2026 Program of Statistical Activities of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the Program for Developing Integration in the Field of Statistics of the Eurasian Economic Union for 2026–2030 and the 2026 Action Plan for Developing Integration in the Field of EAEU Statistics. The meeting approved the updated List of Statistical Indicators Provided to the Commission by the Authorized Authorities of the Member States and forms for providing them that will be used starting from 2026. The use of new sources of information, specifically administrative data, for generating statistics in the EAEU was presented. According to the EEC Minister, the introduction of new statistical survey tools will facilitate effective managerial decisions within the Eurasian Economic Union. "Modern technologies enable to expand the range of available information significantly and improve the quality of statistics via other sources both nationally and at the EAEU level," the EEC Minister pointed out. "The Commission actively interacts with international organizations and integration associations on SDGs and the use of new sources of data including big data." The meeting considered the results of comparing the “mirror” data from statistics of mutual trade in goods between the EAEU countries for 2024, as well as set a schedule for bilateral meetings of experts to compare data in 2026. For generating official information on the volume of exports (imports) of e-commerce goods, the meeting approved amendments to the Methodology for Maintaining Statistics on Foreign Trade in Goods of the EAEU States. The Committee endorsed the draft Methodologies for Generating Financial Statistics Indicators, as well as recommendations on the application by the authorized authorities of the international standard when using the Euro SDMX Registry for EAEU open data.

09 Oct 2025 Naira Karapetyan: "Joining efforts to develop livestock breeding in the EAEU will improve competitiveness of the agricultural sector" On October 9, Naira Karapetyan, Director of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Agricultural Policy Department, chaired a coordination meeting on livestock breeding in the Eurasian Economic Union within the business program of the Golden Autumn 2025 Russian Agricultural Exhibition in Moscow. The key discussion points were plans for developing the market of breeding resources, mechanisms and instruments for creating a breeding system, and development of digitalization in livestock breeding within the EAEU. Naira Karapetyan told about the competitiveness of livestock breeding as an essential condition for developing the agricultural sector. "Further steps to unify the EAEU requirements for releasing into circulation, importing, exporting and moving breeding stock of farm animals, together with creating common databases of breeding resources and sustainable supply models, will create favorable conditions for increasing mutual trade in breeding stock in the Union States," Naira Karapetyan pointed out. During the panel discussion "Innovation to Practice: How the Green Product Segment Develops at Present", Saule Moldabaeva, Deputy Director of the EEC Agricultural Policy Department, informed the event participants about the experience of the Member States in using green technologies and shaping the Union's law on organic agricultural products circulation. The meeting was attended by heads and representatives of the EAEU authorities authorized in the field of livestock breeding, research institutions, laboratories and other livestock breeding entities of the Member States.

09 Oct 2025 EEC Board approved Draft Main Directions of EAEU’s International Activities for 2026 The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission approved the draft Main Directions of International Activities of the Eurasian Economic Union for 2026. The document defines key priorities, vectors and practical objectives for the Union's external interaction for the coming year. The relevant priorities and new drivers of international activities are aimed at implementing the strategic objective outlined in the Eurasian Economic Path Declaration on Further Development of Economic Processes within the Eurasian Economic Union until 2030 for the period until 2045, namely ensuring the EAEU functioning as a pole of economic attraction on the international stage. The draft reflects the entire international agenda of the Union that consistently broadens year on year. The focus is on expanding cooperation with integration associations and international organizations, promoting dialogue with third countries, as well as advocating the interests of the EAEU Member States on global economic venues. The Main Directions of the EAEU’s International Activities for 2026 will be approved by the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

08 Oct 2025 EEC and experts from ASEAN countries discussed competition issues Armine Hakobyan, Deputy Director of the EEC Department for Competition and Public Procurement Policy, told about some outcomes of cooperation and prospects for interaction between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations at the special session of the 35th meeting of the ASEAN Experts Group on Competition. "Holding EEC–ASEAN special sessions on competition has become a good tradition. It enables us to engage in a consistent dialogue and develop practical cooperation," Armine Hakobyan pointed out. The session discussed the results of seminar dedicated to competition policy and law enforcement in the Eurasian Economic Union and the ASEAN countries held by the Commission in July this year. The participants indicated the main areas of activity by the EEC and ASEAN that were of special interest following the seminar. In particular, they cover successful formats of interaction between ASEAN national competition authorities, methodology for assessing their activities and a range of law enforcement peculiarities. ASEAN took an interest in the results of meetings of regional competition organizations annually held by the Commission, as well as the experience of shaping the EEC jurisdiction in this field. "Despite different integration levels in the EAEU and ASEAN, and dissimilarities in the EEC and ASEAN competition jurisdiction, our two integration associations have the same goal, namely to enable fair competition," Armine Hakobyan stressed. "To achieve this goal, we are ready to explore best practices of each other and introduce them into our work." The meeting participants endorsed the Commission's proposal to continue discussions at seminars and consultations, as well as through taking part in the dialogue of regional integration organizations on competition.   The event was attended by representatives of competition authorities of the ASEAN countries, as well as the ASEAN Secretariat.  

08 Oct 2025 Ruslan Davydov: "Digital customs tools can prevent illegal importation of children's products to the EAEU" Ruslan Davydov, Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, told about digital tools that are already applied across the EAEU and are considered promising against illegal importation of children's products at the thematic session of the Anti-Counterfeiting 2025 International Forum in Minsk. The Head of the EEC Customs Unit highlighted three main digitalization tools: navigation seals, digital labelling of goods and electronic document flow both in moving goods across the Union's customs border and within the Union. According to Ruslan Davydov, digital labelling is already widely used in the EAEU countries. The labelling coverage of various product groups might be different from state to state but the work is being done and allows tracing the legality of circulation of a given product item. The EEC Minister reminded that the Five countries will start using navigation seals from February 2026 — a relevant decision was taken by the Commission's Board. The introduction of electronic documents in transportation of goods is a logical step in shaping a digital ecosystem and further work to improve the transparency of imports and goods turnover. "The introduction of these tools will ultimately allow generating big data on movement of goods that will be analyzed not only by customs authorities but also by other interested controlling entities, which will help identify questionable and dangerous shipments including of children's products," Ruslan Davydov mentioned. The EEC Minister has added in his statement that at the instruction of Heads of Government of the EAEU Member States the Commission monitors and analyzes declaration of goods imported to the EAEU and the results of this analysis prove to be useful in combating imports of illegal products. "In July this year, the Commission's Board adopted a recommendation for the EAEU Member States to take further measures aimed at verifying the accuracy of filling in the box 31 of the customs declaration, namely whether the description of imported clothes and shoes is complete. We understand that when a declaration lacks the product identification number, model, manufacturer and trademark, it is much more difficult to control the legality of importation," Ruslan Davydov summed up. He also stressed the need for active joint work by public authorities of all EAEU Member States to synchronize their efforts in combating counterfeiting and fake goods.

08 Oct 2025 Maksim Yermalovich held working meeting with Bolat Sambetov, Deputy Chairman of Republic of Kazakhstan's Agency for Protection and Development of Competition On October 8 in Astana, Maksim Yermalovich, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, discussed topical issues in the field of competition with Bolat Sambetov, Deputy Chairman of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan.   The two sides paid special attention to the issues of improving Kazakhstan's legislation regarding enforcement proceedings and the status of bailiffs. The discussion also covered some law enforcement matters including those related to reasoned submissions and compulsory enforcement of the Commission's decisions taken against violators of general competition rules. Moreover, the meeting reviewed the latest amendments to the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union in terms of challenging the Commission's decisions and actions in the field of competition to the EAEU Court. "The meeting resulted in agreeing the key directions of further joint work and possible formats for addressing antitrust regulation difficulties," Maksim Yermalovich pointed out. Furthermore, the two sides discussed the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the heads of the Union countries' authorized authorities and Maksim Yermalovich in the 5+1 format scheduled in Brest for October 2025.
