In particular, during his speech at the panel discussion "Infrastructure of the Market for Green Products and Combating Greenwashing" he emphasized: "The draft Agreement on the Circulation of Organic Products Within the Union has been prepared jointly with representatives of the Union countries' businesses and authorized authorities. The document aims to ensure the free circulation of organic products, which will contribute to the development of mutual trade and cooperation between manufacturers of such products within the Union."
In addition, Director of the EEC Department reported that the EAEU had developed recommendations for applying common principles and approaches for ensuring the sustainable development of aquaculture and fisheries in the Member States. The recommendations are aimed at the introduction in the industry of innovative and energy-efficient technologies using ESG approaches to ensure reduced damage to the environment, the improvement of collection and recycling systems for the waste of fishery activities, the balanced development of fish production and markets, the improvement of the product quality and the expansion of the product range, the use of international experience, etc.
Artak Kamalyan emphasized the important role of implementing digital technologies in agriculture that help minimize costs, improve productivity, increase predictability and monitoring capabilities as well as save labor costs.
The representative of the Commission highly appreciated the active role in preparing the draft Agreement played by the management of the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization “Russian Quality System” and personally by Elena Saratseva, Deputy Head of this national institution, and presented to her the Eurasian Economic Commission's Certificate of Appreciation.
"Russian Quality System initiated the creation of the interstate technical committee "Organic Products" that includes representatives of all EAEU States. The creation of this committee is an important step on the way towards the unification of requirements for organic production in our Union," Armen Harutyunyan noted.
The event participants also included Maxim Uvaidov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia, Sergei Mitin, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Agriculture and Food Policy and Environmental Management, and Nikolai Valuev, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
