17 Oct 2025 Gohar Barseghyan and Oksana Lut discussed topical issues in agriculture On October 17, following the Golden Autumn 2025 Agricultural Exhibition, there was a working meeting between Gohar Barseghyan, Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Oksana Lut, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. The Ministers discussed the progress of drafting the Plan for implementing the Eurasian Economic Path Declaration on Further Development of Economic Processes within the EAEU until 2030 and for the period until 2045 in terms of the agricultural sector. They also addressed issues on the agenda of the next meeting of the EAEU Agricultural Policy Council scheduled to be held in Minsk on November 13. The two sides attended approaches to creating a mechanism for financial support to cooperative projects in the agricultural sector of the Member States. "The introduction of this financial instrument is a significant practical step for the implementation of joint projects in agriculture enabling to leverage the scale of the EAEU common market, as well as utilize technology and production competencies of the parties and favorable economic conditions for business activities," Gohar Barseghyan mentioned. Gohar Barseghyan and Oksana Lut expressed readiness to expand cooperation on developing the EAEU common agricultural market. They reached an agreement to hold a Eurasian Agro-Industrial Congress in 2026 to discuss prospects for enhancing integration and innovative development of the agricultural sector in the EAEU States.

17 Oct 2025 Promotion of competitive public procurement within EAEU discussed in Moscow Promotion of competitive public procurement within the Eurasian Economic Union as one of the regulation principles in this field was discussed on October 16 in Moscow at the international conference "Public (Municipal) Procurement in the EAEU." The event considered the aspects of promoting competition in the field of public procurement based on digitalization, compliance with bidder qualification requirements, banking support and improved personnel training. Special attention was paid to problematic issues of cross-border access to national services. Maksim Yermalovich, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, informed the conference participants about the trends in the EAEU public procurement market. In particular, he dwelled on implementing the regulation goals and principles in the field of public procurement as defined in the Treaty on the Union. The EEC Minister drew attention to the functioning of the non-competitive public procurement segment where competitive mechanisms are now being actively introduced. "This enables increasing cross-border supply of goods for state needs. A number of the EAEU countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia) use e-store procurement and e-catalogues containing standardized specifications of goods," Maksim Yermalovich pointed out. The EEC Minister explained that the EAEU law does not provide for such procurement methods so far. However, their use is being actively discussed by experts. It is in the interests of the Member States to ensure the coordinated introduction of innovations based on unified regulation. The conference was held by the EEC Competition and Antitrust Regulation Unit jointly with the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. The event was attended by representatives of authorized authorities of the Member States, e-commerce platforms and EAEU businesses. Chang Yong, Deputy Director of the Department of Treasury of the Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of China, delivered a video address to the conference participants.

17 Oct 2025 Uzbekistan's experience in exchange activities to be used in creating EAEU common exchange market During his visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Maksim Yermalovich, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a working meeting with Nabikhon Samatov, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of the Uzbek Commodity Exchange. During the meeting Maksim Yermalovich told about the work being done by the EEC together with the Member States to create a common exchange market within the Eurasian Economic Union by 2030. The two sides discussed interaction and sharing best practices in exchange trade within the EAEU. The meeting resulted in reaching an agreement on Uzbek representatives taking part in the Exchange Committee to be comprised of representatives of the EAEU Member States and observers from the Islamic Republic of Iran. "The invitation of Uzbek Commodity Exchange representatives as observers and utilizing their experience of the exchange model functioning will give an impetus to the primary stage of establishing the principles of the EAEU common exchange market," Maksim Yermalovich stressed.

16 Oct 2025 EEC and EAEU businesses discussed barriers to mutual trade with Uzbekistan and possibilities of their removal The Eurasian Economic Commission's headquarters hosted a seminar on developing sectoral cooperation, identifying and eliminating barriers to mutual trade with the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was attended by representatives of public authorities, businesses and expert community from the Eurasian Economic Union countries.

16 Oct 2025 EEC held seminar on using digital technologies at checkpoints On October 16, the EEC headquarters hosted an international seminar "Smart Checkpoints. Digitalization of Customs Authorities in the Eurasian Economic Union Countries" chaired by Ruslan Davydov, Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission. The event was attended by representatives of international organizations, customs services of the EAEU States and the Republic of Uzbekistan, operators tracking shipments with the use of navigation seals, as well as businesses and business associations. The seminar participants discussed modern technologies and solutions aimed at increasing the capacity of checkpoints at the customs border, international cooperation and using best global practices. "New trends such as the use of the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence and creation of smart checkpoints open up new horizons for customs services of the EAEU Member States. These innovations allow accelerating the movement of goods across the border by helping bona fide and law-abiding foreign traders and simultaneously improving the quality and efficiency of customs control," Ruslan Davydov stressed. The head of the EEC Customs Unit reminded that the Commission is vested with the competence to approve model requirements for arranging and equipping checkpoints at the customs border of the Union. Currently, an active work is underway to update the existing requirements including in the light of the need to use the above mentioned advanced technologies. "Our neighbors go the same way, as the whole world does. Automation of control procedures is a mutually beneficial process both for states and private players that will ultimately lead to improved competitiveness of our Union," Ruslan Davydov pointed out.

16 Oct 2025 Prospects for developing standardization in EAEU discussed in Minsk At a Minsk conference dedicated to the World Standardization Day, Maksim Kim, Deputy Director of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Technical Regulation and Accreditation Department, told about establishing and improving the unified framework of mandatory requirements in the field of technical regulation, as well as about prospects for developing standardization in the Eurasian Economic Union.
