Uzbekistan's experience in exchange activities to be used in creating EAEU common exchange market
During his visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Maksim Yermalovich, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a working meeting with Nabikhon Samatov, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of the Uzbek Commodity Exchange. During the meeting Maksim Yermalovich told about the work being done by the EEC together with the Member States to create a common exchange market within the Eurasian Economic Union by 2030. The two sides discussed interaction and sharing best practices in exchange trade within the EAEU. The meeting resulted in reaching an agreement on Uzbek representatives taking part in the Exchange Committee to be comprised of representatives of the EAEU Member States and observers from the Islamic Republic of Iran. "The invitation of Uzbek Commodity Exchange representatives as observers and utilizing their experience of the exchange model functioning will give an impetus to the primary stage of establishing the principles of the EAEU common exchange market," Maksim Yermalovich stressed.

EEC and EAEU businesses discussed barriers to mutual trade with Uzbekistan and possibilities of their removal
The Eurasian Economic Commission's headquarters hosted a seminar on developing sectoral cooperation, identifying and eliminating barriers to mutual trade with the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was attended by representatives of public authorities, businesses and expert community from the Eurasian Economic Union countries.

EEC held seminar on using digital technologies at checkpoints
On October 16, the EEC headquarters hosted an international seminar "Smart Checkpoints. Digitalization of Customs Authorities in the Eurasian Economic Union Countries" chaired by Ruslan Davydov, Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission. The event was attended by representatives of international organizations, customs services of the EAEU States and the Republic of Uzbekistan, operators tracking shipments with the use of navigation seals, as well as businesses and business associations. The seminar participants discussed modern technologies and solutions aimed at increasing the capacity of checkpoints at the customs border, international cooperation and using best global practices. "New trends such as the use of the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence and creation of smart checkpoints open up new horizons for customs services of the EAEU Member States. These innovations allow accelerating the movement of goods across the border by helping bona fide and law-abiding foreign traders and simultaneously improving the quality and efficiency of customs control," Ruslan Davydov stressed. The head of the EEC Customs Unit reminded that the Commission is vested with the competence to approve model requirements for arranging and equipping checkpoints at the customs border of the Union. Currently, an active work is underway to update the existing requirements including in the light of the need to use the above mentioned advanced technologies. "Our neighbors go the same way, as the whole world does. Automation of control procedures is a mutually beneficial process both for states and private players that will ultimately lead to improved competitiveness of our Union," Ruslan Davydov pointed out.

Prospects for developing standardization in EAEU discussed in Minsk
At a Minsk conference dedicated to the World Standardization Day, Maksim Kim, Deputy Director of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Technical Regulation and Accreditation Department, told about establishing and improving the unified framework of mandatory requirements in the field of technical regulation, as well as about prospects for developing standardization in the Eurasian Economic Union.

Anti-dumping duty on aluminum tape from Azerbaijan and PRC extended during repeated investigation
The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission extended the duty in respect of aluminum tape originating from the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People's Republic of China up to and including June 29, 2026. The current measure was to expire on October 23, 2025. However, the EEC Department for Internal Market Protection received a request, which resulted in the repeated anti-dumping investigation initiated on June 30, 2025. "The EAEU regulatory framework provides for extending the current anti-dumping measure for the period of repeated investigation which should be completed within 12 months from the date of its commencement," the EEC Trade Unit reminded. The anti-dumping duty on aluminum tape from Azerbaijan and the PRC was set in accordance with Decision No. 115 of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Board dated September 22, 2020. The duty rate is 16.18% from the customs value of aluminum tape originating from Azerbaijan and 13.14% from the customs value of aluminum tape originating from the PRC.
