26 Aug 2025 Relevant Public Procurement Matters Discussed in EAEU At the EEC headquarters, Maxim Ermolovich, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a working meeting with Alexey Lavrov, Russian expert, Higher School of Economics Professor, ex-Deputy Prime Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, whose responsibilities previously included coordination of public procurement matters "We appreciate your substantial personal contribution to developing the Eurasian economic integration in the field of public procurement," noted Maxim Ermolovich. The meeting participants discussed relevant matters in this field within the EAEU and specifics of their regulation including prospects for improving statistical reports.
26 Aug 2025 Updated Lists of Products to Technical Regulation on Toys Approved The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission approved the new list of products subject to mandatory assessment of conformity to the requirements of the Technical Regulation of the Customs Union "On Safety of Toys", for which conformity with technical regulation measures is confirmed during customs clearance. The list was developed to implement the Procedure for importing products subject to mandatory conformity assessment into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union. It includes 55 positions of the EAEU Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activities covering toys intended for children under 14 years old. The document is intended for participants of foreign economic activities and is used for customs administration. The decision of the Commission's Board shall come into effect after 30 calendar days have elapsed from the date of its official publication.
26 Aug 2025 EAEU to Apply Trigger Safeguard on Certain Types of Clothing from Vietnam The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission made a decision to apply a trigger safeguard on certain types of clothing from Vietnam imported with tariff preferences in accordance with the Free Trade Agreement. The safeguard imposition means that during six months from the date of enacting the Board's Decision imports of certain types of clothing from Vietnam into the Eurasian Economic Union will be subject to the current rate of the EAEU common customs tariff. The basis for imposing the safeguard is an exceeded trigger level of imports from Vietnam as stipulated in the Agreement. "This measure will support the Union manufacturers and avoid a sharp increase in duty-free imports of goods from Vietnam over the levels stipulated in the Agreement, which is important for light industry of our countries," noted Andrey Slepnev, EEC Minister in charge of Trade. The Decision shall come into effect after 30 calendar days have elapsed from the date of its official publication.
